California - Franchisor, Franchisee Relationship 2020 AB 2489 adds franchisees to the list of occupations and business relationships exempted from the holding in Dynamex, unless a court finds that the franchisor exercises a type or degree of control not customarily exercised by a franchisor to protect its trademarks or for quality control purposes.
